Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals Inaugurates the Largest PLTS in Cikarang

As an international pharmaceutical company, PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals is responsible for preserving the environment, by having initiatives in developing environmentally friendly renewable energy and realizing green manufacturing. This is also in line with the government's roadmap which has set a target for the national new renewable energy mix of 23% by 2025, and encourages the use of solar energy as a power plant to increase national energy security.

 

"To run an effective, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing industry, PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals develops environmentally friendly renewable energy through the construction of a Solar Power Plant in 2021. In collaboration with PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk, we installed solar panels located on the roof of the factory covering an area of 3,000 square meters with a capacity of 239 kiloWatt peaks," said President Director of PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Krestijanto Pandji at the virtual inauguration of the PLTS PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

 

This capacity is the largest PTLS capacity in Cikarang, West Java and will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by 273 tons per year. Mr. Krestijanto also explained that PTLS PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, which was built on the roof of the 3,000 m2 factory, optimizes the utilization of the huge potential of solar energy in Indonesia, which is around 4.8 kWh/m2.

 

"This is an effort that has been made by PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, an international pharmaceutical company, using renewable energy that is environmentally friendly and realizing Green Manufacturing through the construction and operation of a solar power plant with a capacity of 239 kWp and making it the largest PLTS in Cikarang, West Java. , "said the Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Mr. Muhammad Khayam in his remarks at the event.

 

According to Mr. Khayam, in the 2020-2024 RPJMN, low-carbon development and climate resilience have become a national priority agenda in development activities in Indonesia. The government has expressed its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 29%. Mr. Khayam also said that PLTS PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals contributed to achieving the emission reduction target.

 

"It will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by 273 tons per year, now we are entering the industrial era 4.0 which is an era of digital transformation that will create new added value in the pharmaceutical industry," added Mr. Khayam.

 

In line with Mr. Khayam, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ayodhia GL Kalake, stated that dependence on fossil energy must be a concern. Mr. Ayodhia emphasized that the government would later encourage the use of solar energy.

 

"It's time for us to switch to new and renewable energy so that we don't depend on fossil energy, which is very limited in number and will run out," said Mr. Ayodhia.

 

Deputy Commercial Director of PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk, Yudho Pratikto added, the installation of rooftop solar power plants for PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals began in March 2021. The professional collaboration between PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk and PT Ferron make the installation of the solar power plant could be completed in early June 2021.

 

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals for entrusting the installation of rooftop solar PV to PT Cikarang Listrindo with a capacity of 239 kilowatt-peak, which is the largest capacity we have installed so far," said Mr. Yudho.

 

Increase Competitiveness

 

The President Director of PT Ferron Par Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Krestijanto Pandji said, the implementation of PLTS also increases competitiveness in the Industry 4.0 era. The performance of PLTS is carried out by applying the trend of industrial technology 4.0, where PLTS will be connected to the internet network so that it can be monitored in real time. The effort to implement technology 4.0 is also in line with Ferron's efforts to build competence, systems and competitiveness at the national, regional and global levels.

 

“By owning a Solar Power Plant, Ferron seeks to improve the efficiency of the production process in producing quality products with high economic value. This step that is part of the development of the green industry is expected to encourage Ferron as an industry that transforms into an innovative industry that is strong and highly competitive,” said Mr. Krestijanto.

 

Ferron has proven itself through one of the flagship products Glucient SR. The Glucient SR product is a Metformin product for diabetics. This product is highly competitive and became the first Indonesian pharmaceutical product to successfully penetrate the UK market in 2008. Now the Glucient SR product is a Metformin Sustain Release product that is prescribed through the health insurance system in the UK with a market share of around 25%. Even now it is not only exported to the UK but also to other European countries, namely the Netherlands and Poland with the product name Avamina SR.

 

The competitiveness of the pharmaceutical products created by Ferron also contributed to the efforts of national pharmaceutical independence through the creation of Omeprazole products as drugs to treat gastric disorders formulated by Indonesian scientists at the Dexa Group. Ferron is the only national pharmaceutical company that can produce Injection Drug Raw Materials with lyophilization technology.
